SUMMARY:
DESCRIPTION:Artist Reception: Free and open to the public. \n\n\n\n\n\nJoin Emerson Contemporary for an artist reception celebrating Thin Places: Threshold of Transmission\, featuring Beatrice Glow\, Megan and Murray McMillan\, and Sabrina Ratté. \n\n\n\nThe exhibition explores moments when the boundaries between different worlds become less certain\, between past and present\, physical and digital\, human and machine\, and earth and cosmos. Through sculpture\, video\, installation\, and interactive media\, the artists consider how we move between different realms of experience and how technologies\, both ancient and new\, help us make those crossings. \n\n\n\nMeet the artists and experience the exhibition during this opening reception. All are welcome. \n\n\n\nFree and open to the public.

SUMMARY:Beatrice Glow Artist Talk
DESCRIPTION:Artist Talk: Beatrice Glow \n\n\n\nJoin Emerson Contemporary for an artist talk with Beatrice Glow\, whose research-driven practice explores how histories of empire\, migration\, trade\, and cultural exchange continue to shape the present. \n\n\n\nGlow will discuss Textures of Time\, currently on view in Thin Places\, as well as her broader practice\, which begins in archives\, museum collections\, and field research. Working across sculpture\, installation\, video\, performance\, and scent\, Glow transforms historical research into sensory and speculative experiences that invite us to reconsider whose histories are preserved\, how they are remembered\, and how they might be imagined differently. \n\n\n\nAn American artist of Taiwanese heritage\, Glow works in sustained collaboration with Indigenous culture bearers\, researchers\, and museum collections across Asia\, the Americas\, and Europe. Her projects have been presented at The New York Historical\, Baltimore Museum of Art\, Western Australia Shipwrecks Museum\, Park Avenue Armory\, and the Honolulu Biennial\, among others. \n\n\n\nIn conversation with Thin Places\, Glow will consider how objects can carry histories across time and how archives\, digital technologies\, and artistic imagination can become thresholds between past and present. \n\n\n\nFree and open to the public.
