Memorials: As Monuments Fall. Panel: Artist Activist Tory Bullock, Art Historian Cher Krause Knight, Artist Activist Zsuzsanna Szegedi.

October 14, 2020 6:30 pm 8:00 pm

The two Memorials panels are organized in collaboration with Professors Anya Belkina and Cher Krause Knight, and inspired by their co-taught class Boston Memorials Revisited and Reimagined: Public Art and Virtual Modeling. Bringing together artists, activists, architects, urban planners, and scholars, the conversation centers around issues of memorial design and how our relationships to memorials can be understood and contextualized in terms of audience response.

The recent surge in the removal of public monuments—whether by the public and/or by the cities and towns that own them—will be our topic this evening. Panel: Artist Activist Tory Bullock, Art Historian Cher Krause Knight, Artist Activist Zsuzsanna Szegedi. Moderated by Curator Leonie Bradbury.
